yesterday, I was shocked to learn Tony Scott had ended his life. he was a fantastic filmmaker, not just as a director but as a producer as well. I respect his work very much and am truly saddened by his death.

people have reached out to me if I want to do a Tony Scott tribute in light of the event. while I understand the desire for such a video, I will not be making one myself.

it’s not a matter of taste, or respect; I think Tony was amazing at what he did and I enjoyed his films. however, his death does not bring more significance to his work in the sense that it would require a video by me to truly honor a great artist.

in my honest opinion, a tribute at this point would be made solely because of recent events and that would stand in the way of the artistic integrity and the way these films were meant to be watched and remembered.

there is nothing more I can add to his work at this point without his death being a major factor in the process.

now is a time for remembering Tony. I will be doing this in my own way, which I think is most respectful to him and his relatives and friends.
